Dauphin

Dauphin is a Quarter on the north east side of St. Lucia. The village of the same name was home to Amerindians, the (Caribs), who settled there with ruins serving as a reminder of the people who lived there long ago.

The beach at Grand Anse is one of the most picturesque and dramatic in St. Lucia. The breezy exposure of the Atlantic and the extensive reef creates continuous surf activity. Grand Anse is also known for its turtle nesting habitat as well as the abundance of wildlife, particularly birds.

Attractions

Grand Anse Bay Turtle Watching – from March to August, spectators can witness firsthand the critically endangered, 2,000 pound Leatherback Turtles as they come ashore to lay their eggs.

Marquis Plantation – One of St. Lucia’s largest working banana plantations with ruins of the slave quarters and an old plantation house.
