Gros Islet

Gros Island Quarter lies north of Castries and includes the island’s northernmost point, Cap Point and Gros Islet, the newest town in St. Lucia.

The town of Gros Islet features the Friday Night Street Party which is a major tourist attraction and the Beausejour Cricket Grounds, where One Day International and Test Cricket matches are played.

Situated along the northwestern coast of the island to the north of Choc Bay and catering mostly to tourists, Rodney Bay features shops, malls nightclubs and restaurants, surrounding Rodney Bay Marina.

Attractions

Pigeon Island – One of the Caribbean’s most historic landmarks, the island is most famous for its role in the Battle of the Saints (1782). With numerous forts, it was named a national park and landmark in 1992. Pigeon Island is the major venue of the St. Lucia Jazz Festival.

St. Lucia Jazz Festival – held annually in May, the Jazz Festival is considered one of the top 5 music festivals in the World, bringing together international and local jazz, R & B and Calypso musicians.

Gros Islet Street Party – This longest running street party in St Lucia is popular with locals and visitors, who attend the weekly Friday night jump up, for the food, drinks and music that lasts well into the early morning hours.
